Donation of a Keeler Slit Lamp to the Matara General Hospital

The Matara Bodhi Arakshaka Sabawa provides a monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000 to selected low-income families with four or more children.

On September 08, 2020, the Matara Bodhi Arakshaka Sabhawa donated a British-made 'Keeler' Slit Lamp, valued at Rs. 1,050,000.00, to the Eye Care Unit of the Outpatient Department (OPD) at the Matara General Hospital. The equipment was officially handed over to Consultant Eye Surgeon, Dr. Priyanga Iddawela.

In response to the recent adverse weather conditions and in alignment with national relief efforts, the Matara Bodhi Arakshaka Sabawa launched the "Matara Relief for Badulla" initiative. On November 29th and 30th, the Matara Bodhi premises served as a collection center for donations. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the people of Matara, enough essential supplies were gathered to fill seven trucks.
